MLA has been involved in the design, construction, and renovation of distinctive homes. We have been asked to contribute to the isolation of rooms one from another, the design of interior spaces for reverberant noise control, HVAC noise control, and noise transmission from mechanical equipment to neighboring residences. The work often includes isolation of interior spaces from externally generated environmental noise. We have also designed dedicated special purpose rooms such as home theaters, music rooms and studios, including specialized audio visual systems. In doing this work we are mindful of the visual intent of the architect’s design.
