Sanrio is a Japanese company that specializes in creating characters and selling and licensing various products branded with these characters. Expanding on the worldwide popularity of Hello Kitty, Keroppi the frog, Pochacco the little white dog, and numerous others, the company built Sanrio Puroland, an indoor theme park featuring rides, shows, games, restaurants, shops, and exhibits based on the Sanrio characters.

Working with the Landmark Entertainment Group, MLA helped develop the acoustical and audio design for the park. Guests descend into the main hall, and enter an enchanted forest surrounding an enormous tree with winding stairs and a tree house. The Puro boat ride carries passengers through the forest and thirty different scenes of woodland creatures telling their stories.

There are over six separate shows. Apart from the live shows, there is a large-screen movie theater, The Time Machine of Dreams, which projects a 3D surround-sound feature with 3D glasses, and moveable seats. The surround sound effect is accomplished through a full, front, side, rear, and overhead sound system with each loudspeaker individually controllable. The Discovery Theater has fully animated characters on stage telling the story of four scientists and their discoveries. The Fairyland Theater features a combination of animated figures and live actors.

MLA provided the electronics for the audio routing and control systems, as well as the technical designs associated with audio and acoustics.
