The animated characters used two types of motion control, pneumatic and hydraulic. Air driven actuators controlled limit stop motion where the action was in one of two positions. When the limit of motion was reached, air was vented into the room causing a sharp hiss. This was treated using miniature blow off silencers to control the air release noise. With hydraulic (oil driven) actuators, both the range and velocity of motion could be controlled. The difficulty with hydraulic systems is that they are driven by pumps that transmit vibrations through their piping. The pipes are often secured to set pieces, which radiate the vibrations as noise.

Theme park audio has unique requirements. The audio must be loud enough for the guests to understand it, without carrying over into the next scene. Loudspeakers have to be located close to the guests so that there is a minimum of scene to scene transferal. Any speaking characters have to have small themed loudspeakers located nearby. In addition, emergency override announcements and local paging must be accommodated without interrupting the show sequence upon restart.
