Shepherd of the Hills is a Christian church located in the Porter Ranch area of the San Fernando Valley. It has a large congregation with a self-help work ethic. When they had difficulties controlling reverberant sound in their large worship hall, they engaged MLA to help them design absorptive panels that could be built by members of the congregation. We did calculations on a panel that included both high frequency and bass absorption and also could be simply made. Using this design, the church organized building groups and constructed the panels themselves with good results.
