Based on one of the most popular movies ever made, E.T. Adventure takes guests on an urgent mission to save E.T.'s home, the Green Planet. Guests board flying bicycles, which are actually 12-passenger, open-sided gondolas hanging from an overhead track. E.T. is hidden in a basket up front and guests sneak him through the towering trees of a nocturnal redwood forest, past the police and scientists searching for him. To escape, they take off and fly over the city, past the moon and stars. At the end of the journey guests land on the endangered planet, which ET saves with his healing touch. Beautiful plants and creatures greet the guests and E.T. personally thanks each one.

The E.T. ride was an interesting mix of a multi-scene adventure journey along with unique effects. The bicycle ride vehicle gives the guests a scenic overview reminiscent of the Peter Pan ride at Disneyland. The small E.T. puppet at the front of the vehicle is mobile and speaks to the guests. The guests receive a credit card passport, which has their name encoded. When they board the vehicle their card is swiped and E.T. can call out to them by name.
