All of the Future World elements were explored at Horizons, as well as man's relationship with the oceans, land, air, and space. Guests were transported from Future Port in Omnimover vehicles through visions of the future as perceived from the era of Jules Verne through the 1950s. Two immense Omnimax screens showed modern technologies that could be used to build the world of tomorrow. The main part of the ride took guests through scenes of futuristic life in cities, deserts, under seas, and in space.

Horizons featured several innovative acoustical designs to control overhead drive motor noise. The guests sat in seats suspended by a pipe from a frame rolling along a track above. The drive motors rotated wheels attached to the frame, which propelled the vehicle. The high frequency noise from the motors was treated by building a continuous, MLA designed, tunnel around the motor and track system. The vertical chair support pipe penetrated the underside of the tunnel through heavy vinyl flaps which sealed when the vehicle had passed by. The tunnel also provided a convenient duct for motor ventilation air.
