Sparks Christian Fellowship is a growing non-denominational church serving about 1100 members. Their congregation outgrew its former location and they decided to rehabilitate a building that had housed a movie theater for many years. This presented a number of design challenges not the least of which was the restricted ceiling height. MLA worked with Architects Plus to develop solutions that would accommodate the high energy services featured in the church and provide state of the art audio visual systems for their needs.
MLA helped design the interior of the sanctuary and the technical booth. We were responsible for the mechanical noise control, the room to room noise isolation, and the interior acoustics. We designed the audio and video systems including a creative rear projection system over the stage. Loudspeaker clusters were located between each screen for even sound distribution throughout the space. Large subwoofers were placed under the stage for low frequency boost.
