BASILICA SAN MARCO

Basilica San Marco in Venice, Italy is an example of the architectural characteristics of a single building influencing the development of a musical style. The time delay caused by the distance between opposing choir lofts lead composers such as Willaert, Gabrieli, and Monteverdi to take advantage of this special effect.
